..and, Turn on set explain on. Gt the SQL for the most common queries and mc queries. Get the users to sign off on expected load. Find out what expected table hits are either via SMI or do an analysis of the logfiles if it's under Online 6. Build a stress-test environment - shell scripts will do. Hit the database with the expected user load plus 15% - 25%. See how it handles it. Go and have a cigar. Errol
