Actually that was 2 years ago on Novell for Informix. Actually that was Informix's choice (they could have not participated or chosen any other INTEL platform, DB2/2 chose not to participate this year). Again this year, they decided to participate again (and lost again) although on a different platform and Informix version#. This is *not* any RDBMS marketing here, this is PC Magazine doing an independent evaluation of RDBMS's. PC Magazine asked for vendor support (Informix sent software, no support; everyone else sent software and support, hmmmm). Where is the cheap shot here. PC Mag. designed it (using a modified AS3AP standard benchmark), ran it, reported it... Had nothing to do with any one database vendor. If Informix had any complaints they could have just withheld the results by never doing to test at all, the manner of testing and platforms was known well in advance. They took a chance and lost.
