Setting up a Test Env

Eng: online 7.23.UC1 OS: AIX 2.4.1 HW: 1x166Mhz CPU, 128MG RAM and 2x4.5GIG disk. DB: 1.3 GIG 242 Tables Has anyone got any thoughts on the best way to set up a development environment. I was thinking of setting up another instance for the development (dev) DB. In the dev DB. I was thinking I could make the logical logs a lot smaller as it is 360 MG in the prod DB. I was also going to make the resident portion of the shared memory smaller. Q: Is there any way I can have the logical log but not need to back it up at all for the dev DB.
