Informix Backup part II

(with apologies to Kalyan for "appropriating" the text of his prior message) We are doing a level 0 archive using ontape. It was working quite fine for a long time. Recently we are getting an error after around 70% of it is done ... The error that we get is Archive failed - function write to tape failed code -1 errno 28. Does anybody know what the 28 means????? Additional question I know there are lots of variables involved. but can anyone give me a very ROUGH idea of how long a level-0 archive should take with, say, 7 or 8 gigs of actual data contained within 16 gigs of disk space (6 dbspaces, 6 chunks (all mirrored), 5 databases) Are we talking just an hour or two, or more like 7 or 8 or 10????? The manuals just say that a lev 0 can "take a long time". Are there any config params that affect archive speed in a major way??? We are using INFORMIX-OnLine Verson 7.22.UC1 running on hp-ux 10.01 on an HP J200 Thanks in advance for your help. Thanks, Allen .
