You shouldn't confuse Online DSA with OnLine Workgroup Server. I don't know your prices for the different products. You will have to get them from Informix. They do however sell OWS at a considerably lower price than DSA. It's mainly the OWS you should compare to the other engines you mention (although I don't think you should compare too much with SQL Anywhere which I believe is the engine originally coming from Watcom and is a tiny one as far as I understand). You normally don't need DSA until you have multiple processors, many disks and a reasonably large database (million record tables). As far as I know there are no functional differences at the SQL level between DSA and OWS. Their price on the DSA engine may still be high though. :No, don't ask me why NT. I'm not going to get into it. :Yes, we already have lots of UNIX boxes so I know about :UNIX. : :Thanks. I really need to confirm this. : :- Victor Tan Nils.Myklebust@idg.no NM Data AS, P.O.Box 9090 Gronland, N-0133 Oslo, Norway My opinions are those of my company The Informix FAQ is at http://www.iiug.org
