Also on Unix (at least some systems): output to "/dev/tty" without headings Don't know if this could be modified for NT (COM?) > -----Original Message----- > From: Octav Chiriac [SMTP:com@netinfo-moldova.com] > Sent: Thursday, October 21, 1999 4:10 AM > To: Gerald > Cc: informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: Re: How To Eliminate Headings To Stdout? > > Hi, > > I suppose the simple: > output to pipe "cat" without headings > will work. > > I'm not sure it will work and it will definitely not work on > NT, but on UNIX you can get what you want. > > Best Regards, > Octav > > On Thu, Oct 21, 1999 at 07:37:42AM +0000, Gerald wrote: > > I am using Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.31.UC2. > > > > I am a user with no access to documentation (the server is in a > > different State) so I can't RTFM. > > > > I know about "output to filename without headings" but what if I want > > the same thing when sending output to stdout? Linux and Solaris both support this. Also, you could look at SQLCMD in the IIUG archives; it is designed to do the civilized things you want DB-Access or ISQL to do but they don't do -- when running in a shell script, at any rate. > > Don't know if this could be modified for NT (COM?) > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Octav Chiriac [SMTP:com@netinfo-moldova.com] > > Sent: Thursday, October 21, 1999 4:10 AM > > To: Gerald > > Cc: informix-list@iiug.org > > Subject: Re: How To Eliminate Headings To Stdout? > > > > Hi, > > > > I suppose the simple: > > output to pipe "cat" without headings > > will work. > > > > I'm not sure it will work and it will definitely not work on > > NT, but on UNIX you can get what you want. > > > > Best Regards, > > Octav > > > > On Thu, Oct 21, 1999 at 07:37:42AM +0000, Gerald wrote: > > > I am using Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.31.UC2. > > > > > > I am a user with no access to documentation (the server is in a > > > different State) so I can't RTFM. > > > > > > I know about "output to filename without headings" but what if I want > > > the same thing when sending output to stdout?
