exiting from isql when cu to another machine

Hi folks, We have a slight problem (however very irritating) in running isql when cu'd to another machine. We have two machines running informix. Very often we've to connect to another machine and run isql. Upon exiting from isql, it hangs up the terminal. The only way to get out, is have someone on that machine kill the isql process or turn the terminal off(turn it on, log on the local machine and cu all over again). The exact same thing happens when we run kermit from a pc, log on to the unix system, and run isql. We run Informix version 4.00 on SysV 3.2.3.
