With i4gl you can produce stand-alone programs (don't require a 'runner') but you still need a database, unless you are just accessing file system files and then 4gl sems a bit pointless any way!! What was your environment, what has changed (and why) and why do you therefore still need to compile and run 4gl?? Keith
I couldn't begin to guess why your I4GL or RDS (interpreted Rapid Development System) IDE is no longer working, but you can always use the commandline compile utilities that they use under the hood. For compiled 4GL (C4GL/I4GL) use: c4gl -o executable_name one.4gl two.4gl ... Nth.4gl for the interpreted 4GL (RDS): fglpc one.4gl fglpc two.4gl ... fglpc Nth.4gl cat one.4go two.4go ... Nth.4go >executable_name.4gi There are ways to build 4GL code libraries in each environment also and in the RDS environment you can link C functions in to a custom p-code runner to enhance the capabilities of your 4GL applications. Let us know if you need help to be able to do that. This is all in the 4GL manuals, especially in the "4GL Concepts and Use" manual.
