If it's over 65536, you'll get the -922 error because (apparently) older versions of Informix for SCO only recognize 16-bit inodes (i.e. they max out at 65536). The solution is to create a new (smaller) filesystem and move the files/directories there, or play the inode "lottery game" via the following 7 steps: (1) delete unnecessary files with low inodes (or make copies of these files, then delete the originals). (2) rename user accounts with high inodes. (3) mkdir the home directories. (4) set permissions on the new home dir. (5) verify the inode on the new dir is less than 65536 (the system will recycle the low inodes that were freed up in step 1). (6) Move files from the renamed home dirs to the newly created one. Note: Informix doesn't care about the inodes of files within the user's directory, just the inode of the home directory itself. (7) Remove the (now empty) original home directory (the one with the new name). Best of luck to you. -- Jeff ------------------------------------------ Jeff Raihanan (jeff@nbhc.org) Information Systems Director Network Behavioral HealthCare, Inc.
