Although I haven't installed this version I would be highly surprised if you can install it on a server and use it from other PC's. It have to update the registry on each PC so it must be installed there. You *might* be able to tweek it a lot and get it to work by manually setting up the registry yourself. In that case you should of course make a program that will set up the registry for you on each PC. If you could make it work it would however be totaly unsupported by Informix, and probably a lot more hairy then simply installing it on each PC. Is there a special reason why you need I-Connect. The better ODBC drivers (server based that do not use I-Net/I-Connect) are very much simpler to install, although they must also be installed on each PC. It's a two minute process, and can fairly easily be made completely automatic so the users can do it themselves. PS.: I realy hope someone corrects me on this, and says that Informix have made a completly automatic install that can be run off a file server by the end user with no expert intervention appart from an initial setup. They will have to do that eventually. Nils.Myklebust@idg.no NM Data AS, P.O.Box 9090 Gronland, N-0133 Oslo, Norway My opinions are those of my company The Informix FAQ is at http://www.iiug.org
