logical log/ locks tuning

The affected records could be quite big in number, } and we often run into problems either because the LOCKS limit was hit } or the logical log became full. Could you suggest what all parameters } to tune. This way we never ever run out of locks or logs. Running out of these things can be *VERY BAD*, and corrupt indexes, data, and possibly cause you to have to restore from backup.
