Its interesting in that it is supposed to be posix compliant. (Posix 2.0) seems to come to mind. Will Informix port to it? Hmmm, well considering that they are dragging their feet on the Linux question, I hazard to guess, not! Of course if you want to go through the hassles of doing a market research survey, I could give you a hand. :-) Seriously? It represents an interesting concept on the high end OLTP, however OS/390 has a lot of hype to live up to. Based on experiences putting TCP/IP on MVS, its going to take a while before IBM works all the kinks out. Most Big Iron shops tend to be ultra conservative. IMHO, it would be a hard sell. -Mikey BTW, does anyone know if I can get PADI certified on my dumpster dives? > Dale Forrey, DBA email: forrey@wsu.edu > Information Technology FAX: (509) 335-0540 > Washington State University Phone: (509) 335-7098 > PO Box 641222 > Pullman, WA 99164-1222 > > ADABAS 5.3.2 on MVS > Informix 7.23 on AIX 4.1.4
