Inaugural New Zealand IUG October 14 1996

Folks We have finally managed to get our act together on organising the first IUG for New Zealand (in the current era). The Inaugural meeting is being hosted by Informix and sponsored by SGI on the 14th October at the Carlton Hotel, Auckland If you can't make it, but are interested in serving on the regional committee in your own area, please let me or Laura know about you! (Address details below) The letter of announcement from Informix, and the meeting agenda is as under; ---------------------------- Informix is pleased to announce that we are hosting the inaugural meeting of the Informix User Group on 14th October sponsored by Silicon Graphics with a great door prize to be won. The objective of the meeting is to establish the group and gather nominees for the Regional Committees to ensure the on-going activities of the user group. The User Group will provide value as an additional source of information as well as a vehicle for customers to interact with one another and share information and experiences. It is intended that the Informix User Group will be run by the users for the users. Informix has a very active international user community and Kerry Sainsbury, from Quanta Systems in Auckland, is a member of the International User Group Board. Steve Dolan, Marketing Director for Informix will share his experience with User Groups at the meeting. Stewart Robinson will be our guest speaker at the meeting, with the theme #Informix and the Internet#. Stewart is on secondment from Informix USA and is currently Project Consultant with Telecom New Zealand#s Internet Services Group. Stewart has extensive experience with both Informix, as a member of the Advanced Technology Group, and with Illustra. He will demonstrate on a SGI Indy computer how Informix is unique in its abilities to integrate with the world wide web, both for Internet and Intranet use. We will then have #Cocktails and Canap#s# so people can meet one another.
