Hi, I've just upgraded; IDS 7.24.UC5 to 7.30.UC7 RDS 6.05.UC1 to 7.20.UD8 4GL 6.05.UC1 to 7.20.UD8 Running on Hp-Ux 10.20 Does anyone know why my executables are now significantly larger? E.g. typical program has gone from 509319 bytes to 903659 bytes, almost double! -- --------------------------------------- Tony Flaherty aef@mfs.misys.co.uk Analyst Programmer Misys Financial Systems All statements and opinions are my own, Misys don't pay me enough to have opinions on their behalf .
Part of it is to include the dynamic link modules to allow for multi-threading... How much? I've always heard about 350K per executable. Perhaps someone 'official' from Informix can lend more insight as to what else is in there. (Jonathon???) Most of it comes from the addition of GLS support. Art S. Kagel

Kagel Ok, thanks for the info. Now I guess the million rupee question is, as I am only working in one locale can I exclude the GLS support with a compiler option or something? -- --------------------------------------- Tony Flaherty aef@mfs.misys.co.uk Analyst Programmer Misys Financial Systems All statements and opinions are my own, Misys don't pay me enough to have opinions on their behalf
This is what I have problems in my earlier posts. Something is got to be wrong here. We have compiled a simple program to just open a DB, select a one record table, and the EXE file size if enormous. This is also on HP, And the docs indicate that the linker is smart enough to just use the libs that are necessary. "Art S.
