Earlier I had requested some help with ESCAPE and arrow key problems with SQL and 4GL. We have changed our termcap to use F10 as the accept key. A couple mentioned a patch from Informix. I will check out the possiblity we may have it since we have .03G; if not will contact Informix. Our development team prefers a hardware or system solution. However, I am testing a function for 4GL. Thought I toss out for review here. We use mixture PC's, MAC's, and dumb terminals. They all emulate svt1220. function keydump() define keystroke char(1) IF keystroke = "[" THEN PROMPT " " FOR CHAR keystroke IF keystroke >= "0" and keystroke <= "9" THEN WHILE keystroke PROMPT " " FOR CHAR keystroke IF keystroek = "~" THEN EXIT WHILE END IF END WHILE END IF ELSE IF keystroke = "0" THEN PROMPT " " FOR CHAR keystroke END IF END IF END FUNCTION The INPUT statement would have these two lines ON KEY (ESCAPE) CALL keydump() The idea here is to have the variable keystroke "eat" any unwanted characters. Thanks for the help. Helio Medina hfm@sactoh0.SAC.CA.US
