Printing from within Functions

Is there any way to define a function that "PRINT"s, that could be called from within a report? I've got a section of code that opens a cursor, steps through the rows, and prints them, that's repeated MANY times. I'd like to turn this into a function, but I4GL disallows the PRINT statement outside a REPORT routine. I4GL 4.1, OnLine 5.01.
