isql commands from shell prompt

I have an Informix-SQL Version 4.00 in front of me. How do I issue the following command from inside a shell script? load from "add_units.data" insert into fgistatus; In which section is this discussed? I've never had an overview, and I can't seem to find what I need in the index or by browsing each section's table of contents. Judy
