Need compiling help

Hi. I am trying to compile dostats.ec from the IIUG Software repository. When I run esql -log dostats.log -o dostats dostats.ec I get: (Bundled) cc: "dostats.ec", line 174: error 1705: Function prototypes are an ANS I feature. (Bundled) cc: "dostats.ec", line 175: error 1705: Function prototypes are an ANS I feature. (Bundled) cc: "dostats.ec", line 176: error 1705: Function prototypes are an ANS I feature. (Bundled) cc: "dostats.ec", line 178: error 1705: Function prototypes are an ANS I feature. (Bundled) cc: "dostats.ec", line 196: error 1705: Function prototypes are an ANS I feature. (Bundled) cc: "dostats.ec", line 1128: error 1705: Function prototypes are an AN SI feature. When I run esql -e -log dostats.log -o dostats dostats.ec I get no errors. So the problem is not at the precompiler stage. Platform information: HP-UX 10.20 OnLine 7.23.UC1 ESQL/C 7.22.UC1 what cc cc: HP92453-01 A.10.32.00 HP C (Bundled) Compiler /usr/lib/libc: $Revision: 76.3 $ esql -libs -lixsql -lixasf -lixgen -lixos -lixgls -lnsl_s -lm -lV3 -lcl -lsec Any help is appreciated. I don't write ESQL programs. But I have programmed in a past life so I will understand terms like precompiler... Thanks, Dianne

This is almost certainly a compiler issue. I don't know offhand what the flag is, but you probably need to pass a flag to the c compiler to tell it this is ANSI C.
