CONNECTIVITY INFORMATION A valid "sqlhosts" file will need to be created in the \\INFORMIX\\ETC directory. PC/TCP (FTP Software) NOTE: Other FTP Software may also work but INFORMIX recommends PC/TCP and that is what we have installed. If you need information on other FTP Software then you need to contact the vendor that you bought the software from. Add the following line to the PCTCP.INI file in the [pctcp kernel] Section to resolve Host Names: host-table=c:\\pctcp\\etc\\hosts The following line should be in CONFIG.SYS if using NDIS Drivers: DEVICE = C:\\PCTCP\\DIS_PKT.GUP In AUTOEXEC.BAT the following items should be checked: PATH %PATH%;C:\\INFORMIX\\BIN;C:\\PCTCP SET INFORMIXDIR=C:\\INFORMIX SET PCTCP=C:\\PCTCP\\PCTCP.INI C:\\PCTCP\\ETHDRV The \\PCTCP\\ETC\\SERVICES file must contain the port thread definition that you will be using to connect to the DATABASE with. It must be the same as in the /etc/services file on the Server. The final kicker is that the last line of the \\PCTCP\\ETC\\SERVICES file must be a blank line. Trust me on this one, I've tried it both ways. Robert J.
