tbcheck on mips R4000

The -cd option of tbcheck always bombs out with a memory allocation error. We are running RISC/os 5.01 on mips R4000 and Informix Online 4.1 using raw disk. Has anyone come across this? If so is there a solution or workaround that will allow me to repair a table ?. Thanks Stuart
