Well I would say one of the advantages of makefiles is the ability of a full project compile with no effort at all. If makefiles are used and a directory for each program then a simple script can go through the dir. structure compiling all your applications, forms, and message files with one command. The second would be that if SCCS is used and all the code is checked in then make will check out the code and compile it. Third but not last by far I prefer makefile because of the effiecency of them. I can write code compile fix errors and recompile before you can type i4gl, choose program, select module to edit ................... Working with a makefiles keeps me in the vi enviroment always........ Gregg .....
