Question about Dynamic SQL..

I am surveying 'Dynamic SQL features' provided by commercial DBMSs that are currently used in real applications. I know the Dynamic SQL feature is recommended as part of SQL standard. (I am not sure, but the feature has been added since SQL2 intermediate level standard). But, I know that some commercial DBMSs have supported that feature even they implemented SQL features according to the previous version of standard (e.g., SQL86). So, I would like to know the followings: - From which version (or release), each DBMS starts the support of Dynamic SQL feature ? - How many (approximately in the world) copies of each DBMS version that does not support Dynamic SQL, are being used for managing much legacy data as of now? - What about the situation in Non-relational DBMSs' cases? Do they also support the dynamic query execution feature as in relational DBMSs. - How can the versions that do not provide the dynamic SQL or like feature execute some queries requested from remote clients? Your experienes, knowledges, and any other tips are welcomed. Please help me finish my survey successfully. Thanks in advance. -------------------------------------------------------------------- E-mail: hdyoo@dbserver.kaist.ac.kr Phone: +82-42-869-3570, Fax: +82-42-869-3510 Address: Ho-Dong Yoo Dept. of Computer Science Korea Advanced Inst. of Science and Technology(KAIST) 373-1 Kusong-dong Yusong-gu Taejon 305-701 Korea --------------------------------------------------------------------
