I'll summerize the things that gave us problems. Some of them (I can't remember which) we got Informix to change for us. 1) Rounding of money values. Since Informix now stores money values as something like binary coded decimal, the conversion between double and decimal often had round off somewhere around +/- $0.0001. I'm fairly sure we got this one fixed. Accountants get real picky about this kind of stuff. :) 2) dbfind(NEXT/PREV) We had some code that relied on dbfind() behaving a particular way when we went off the begining or end of a file. It was easier of us to recode those modules. 3) dbfine(EQUAL) Trying to find empty string values is tough because sperform and isql like to insert NULL strings and C programs like to look for blank strings: " " != NULL 4) Locking continues to be a problem that's hard to pin down and blame anything. I'm not sure if it's just SQL or ALL or the combination of the two. 5) NULL dates. In 3.3 a NULL date ("00/00/00") was stored internally as 0L. In SQL it's stored as 0x80000000. Zero is a perfectly valid date in SQL 12/31/1899.
