I work on a database containing blob columns which has 5.8 million rows of data. The actual database is in the rootdbs with columns defined as BYTE in blobdbspacename. So I don't feel number of rows will be limited.

In the either case the BLOBSPACE or TABLESPACE would have a hard limit of 2TB (though practically somewhat less since this is also the hard limit for the entire server) using 2GB disk chunks. Yes, for the IDS/UDO (Universal Data Option) and the soon to be released IDS.2000 product there are two text DataBlades, Excalibur and another, which can index and search text BLOBS (actually CBLOBS which is a UDO data type stored in a SmartBLOBSpace). Hi All, We need some information on implementation of BLOBs in the Informix database. We have to design a document storage system when documents files may be stored in db as blobs (Word, PdF etc). What is the largest size that a table with BLOB can grow? Also, Is there any datablade that deals with document management (indexing, text search).
