Performance of temp table.

Hi all, Environment : Running 7.23 online on Sequent Dynix PTX. Question. In one of our programs , we create a temp table and during the processing part it is populated for each processing period(dates) and deleted after each processing period. Over a period of time selecting on the temp table becomes very slow. Is this normal?. or should we use update statistics on the temp table ? NB : The temp table does not have an index and has 3 fields with one field as date and will have not more than 200 rec / processing period. Jay
