This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_006B_01C56797.A8AED580 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I know this is a little off for the group, but I thought I would throw it out there see if anyone wants to play. We are working on a project to take the compiled version of Informix 4GL and integrate it with our Java applications. I will stay away from why, just trying to figure out how. We have the basics working. We can compile the 4GL into standard shared Unix libs, and from there link against them with our Java/C JNI code. We can call the 4GL functions from Java and have a couple proof of concepts working. We are working through some small problems, example the code will segfault when the 4GL calls the standard LENGTH() function on a string passed in from the Java -> C -> 4GL (Any one have any ideas?) We are looking for anyone else who may have done this (or something like it) and is interested in sharing his or her experience. Thanks ahead for any help. -jm James Maes Materialogic PH: 800-333-7144 PH: 314-997-4342 Ext.3422 FX: 314-997-7814 ------=_NextPart_000_006B_01C56797.A8AED580 Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html xmlns:o=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" = xmlns:w=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" = xmlns=3D"http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40"> <head> <meta http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; Well EGL is the new 4gl and compiles down to java. There is a 4gl to egl translator coming out soon and promises 100% compatability. Check EGL under the Rational part of IBM's Website.
