You need to enable them first:
onmode -BC 1
This will allow you to create chunks > 2gb. Pages written to this chunk will
follow the new format. If you want the instance to convert completely to the
new page format for all chunks then follow the above with:
onmode -BC 2
The server will not rewrite all the pages in existing chunks in using the
new format. Its a bit like an in-place alter; pages will only be updated
when they need to be rewritten. Once you commit fully to using the new page
format you cannot revert without unloading and recreating the server [I
think that's correct].
