Re: VLDB - for real?

I would like to add that large image DB's are needed in medicine: think about CT scans or MR images, etc etc. A relatively small radioterapy practice such the one I work for needs to store something like 6 millions images (300 images * 20000 patients - a CT exam is made up of 40 images or so...), and that sums up to 800 Gigs.
