The utility is arcunload and it is available for certain platforms on
the IIUG Software Repository in the Special software section. It reads
a level 0 archive and extracts a single table. It reads the tape three
times in total so this will not be a fast process but for emergencies
only. Arcunload outputs an onunload format file which can then be
loaded using onload.
In addition I have submitted a program, on_to_unload, to the Repository
which can read a subset of onunload files and output a delimited files
suitable for use with dbload. The current version only handles simple
datatypes (integer, smallint, float, smallfloat, & serial) but I am
>< this close to a version for all types except BLOBs which will only
be limited to rowsize < pagesize and no displaced rows (ie rows with
varchar that had to be moved off of their home page, though arcunload
may actually eliminate this problem I have not tested).
Anyway that is the closest you will come to the level of restore
granularity that you desire. The best thing is to not mix databases in
the same dbspaces then you can use onbar or ontape to perform dbspace
level restores and just get the databases you want.
