I'm pretty new to working with Informix servers and such, so there may be a whole lot of information I'm lacking. From my personal experience, you need to install the ODBC driver on the workstation that will be accessing the Informix database. Also *on that machine*, you will need I-CONNECT (or a related product that includes SetNet). The experimentation that I've done on a few machines indicates that you must have an Informix connectivity utility installed before you can configure the ODBC driver with the ODBC Administrator. You can't use the driver until it is configured and a DSN is created.
