How did you learn about Informix?

I am relatively new to Informix. I am currently using ISQL ver. 2.10.06 and 4gl 1.10.06 for dos. I purchased the upgrades to version 4.11 for the SE engine and SQL and received the upgrade to 4gl for Windows. To this point I have learned everything about informix by pooring through the database designs of others and the 4gl code of others. When I upgraded I finally got manuals that I coveted and the experts on in this newsgroup have added a lot of information. With this brief background to how I am going about learning Informix I am curious as to how other people learn Informix? I guess a life story would be great but what I want to know is how to develop a "marketable" knowledge in a development language? Thanks Bruce Szabo
