Hi all, some weeks ago i installed Netbeans IDE and downloaded the JDBC Informix driver from IBM. I got a package which included the com.informix.jdbc.IfxDriver. This driver is working well with different versions of Informix. The Netbeans IDE has a database view and thus can be used as a database working bench. Now i wanted to describe the installation process for documentation but when i looked at the IBM site, i found a new JDBC driver package, which contains the com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver. As i think, this driver only supports the DRDA protocol I used this driver only for IDS 11.50 till now. Connection string: jdbc:ids://dbhostname:1234/dbname where 1234 is the port which is configured on the server dbhostname with drtlitcp Connection works, but when i do a select on a table i get Fehlercode -4470, SQL-Status null: [jcc][t4][10120][10898][3.50.152] Ungültige Operation: result set ist geschlossen. ERRORCODE=-4470, SQLSTATE=null (translated: Errorcode -4470, SQL-state null [...] invalid operation, result set is closed...) Why does IBM not provide the Informix JDBC driver on their site? Did i miss something for configuration of my Client? Thanks in advance. Chris

JDBC 3.50.JC3 Should work with NetBeans without a hitch, the only problem is when you're trying to use it with Glassfish because the docs are wrong concerning the getter and setter method names. In netbeans outside of your java code, you can test the connection and actually view the tables along with running SQL scripts. I'm kind of impressed with NetBeans over Eclipse, and can't figure out why you'd buy RAD when you can get your feature/functionality for free.
