Have you run tbcheck with all the options fo fix corrupt data? Sounds like something corrupted an index and OnLine keeps on aborting everytime it sees the corrupt index. Possibly an area of raw disk is allocated to an Informix chunk and a filesystem at the same time? Very carefully check you disk layout. E-mail if you have further queries. PS The problem of having ?84K duplicate entires in an index has been resolved under 7.1x - I got this from an Informix Trainer when I did my OnLine DBA course in June last year. -- David Williams
