Re: Re: RE: Informix : Bladelet Exec causes IDS Engine to crash
Posted in 2004
Hello, Finally, after a lot of tests, I succeded to reproduce this crash of the IDS-9.30. The first time was by killing the client application running on a Windows 2000 workstation ( this application invokes both, SPL and Exec bladelet). the second time was by executing this application for more than 8 hours. My question is : is it normal or possible that a client application causes Informix engine to crash ? In the same time I found this text, treating clearly with Exec Bladelet, in the ids_defects_9.40.txt informix documentation file : bug_number 165231 description STRESS TESTING THE EXEC BLADELET SHOWS VAST MEMORY CONSUMPTION IN 9.30.UC5 WHICH WAS NOT PRESENT IN 9.21. product_code ONLINE component_code SAPI Some other bugs, treating with engine crashs caused by SPL, are also mentioned in this file, like these : bug_number 163903 description CURSOR WITH HOLD FOR A STORED PROCEDURE CAN CRASH SERVER AT COMMIT TIME product_code ONLINE component_code SQL bug_number 165553 description STORED PROCEDURE WITH SELECT DISTINCT COUNT CAN ASSERT FAIL product_code ONLINE component_code SQL bug_number 126193 description STORED PROCEDURE EXECUTION CRASHES THE ENGINE WITH SHARED MEMORY CORRUPTION product_code ONLINE component_code SQL-SPL Perhaps that these are the origine of my IDS 9.30 crashs, and I must migrate to IDS 9.40. Thank you to confirm this or to help me understanding this problem. Mkadmi
