Will xx? always be the only difference? In which case:
SELECT statement
BEFORE GROUP OF xx_field
print other stuff; { <- note the semicolon - no new line }
ON EVERY ROW
print "|", xx_field; { <- still no new line }
AFTER GROUP OF xx_field
print { here's your carriage return }
try that out
