I have installed Informix-SE & SQL on Linux (kernel 2.2.5). It installed fine. However, when I attempt to setup sqldemo, I get an error message related to Incorrect Locales. Can someone please tell me what ENVIRONMENT variables need to be set in order to create the sqldemo as well as creating other databases? I have searched the Online documentation and found little. Do I have to use the NLS variables? Thanks! Scott

INFORMIXDIR is the key variable for locating locales, etc. It must be exported (unless you are using /usr/informix). INFORMIXSERVER is the other variable which must be exported (there is *no* default). Everything else is optional -- you don't have to set PATH if you like typing long path names; you don't have to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH if you are not using ESQL/C programs linked with shared libraries; you don't have to set ONCONFIG (not with 6.00 and above!); you don't have to set DBDELIMITER; you don't have to set ... And no, you don't have to set the NLS variables. Where did you install SE?
