Informix remote access.

Hi group,
Something is wrong when I access informix database from my laptop.
I use telnet to access an internal AIX server, then I run "dbaccess" to
control my informix server.
When I make this from a DOS window everything works fine, but if I try
to use a Linux shell to access the AIX server, when I run "dbaccess" I
get this error message:
[/informix]dbaccess
The type of your terminal is unknown to the system
I think this is something to do about terminal configuration. What has
got the DOS window that is missing on other types of windows?
I need to access from another type of windows because I need to make
remote administration, and usualy I use Putty or a Linux shell.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,

This usually means that the terminal type specified in your TERM environment
variable is not described in the file indicated by your TERMCAP variable. You
can often fix this quite simply with
export INFORMIXTERM=terminfo
to get Informix to use the files in the directory specified in the TERMINFO
variable instead.
