I've had a similar experience(s) with this problem using Informix OnLine and
Viewpoint for Windows. I don't think there is a clean, cut, and dry solution
to this problem. Rebooting regularly (or taking the Informix off-line) at
off-peak hours (late night or weekends?) might work for you if you can do this
in a cron job or something.
