This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Re: Error -1215 Value exceeds limit of INTEGER pre
Answered: red (solid confidence) — Thread ends on Art Kagel's diagnostic question about a recent upgrade; no fix for error -1215 from the sysadmin scheduler is ever given in this thread.
A user reported Informix error -1215 ("Value exceeds limit of INTEGER precision") and asked for an ALTER statement to fix it. Respondents asked for context, noting such values can't be stored in an INT column so it's likely a conversion issue. The poster clarified the error appears in online.log from the default sysadmin scheduler task mon_users, with no local changes made. Art Kagel suggested it may follow a server upgrade where the sysadmin database wasn't dropped/rebuilt, leaving new stored procedures querying old table schemas, and asked for the version. No resolution is recorded in the thread.

Under what conditions are you getting this error? Values that would cause
a -1215 error cannot be inserted into an INT type column so I suspect that
this is a conversion issue in using a host variable or stored procedure to
process the data causing a conversion to or from another data type and
that's what is failing.

It's telling you your trying to stuff something into an integer that doesn't
fit there. If you want something beyond that, we'll need more than an error
code to give you a suggestion. Where are you getting the message? Is it SQL or
4GL, maybe a table alter? What version? A code snip from the location that
fails would help, too.

I am getting the error in the online.log file.
01/23/14 16:45:19 SCHAPI: [mon_users 11-1332] Error -1215 Value exceeds limit
of INTEGER precision
And it looks like the sysadmin scheduler job which is causing this.
I have not made any change in the sysadmin, all default stuff is running.
Thanks.
Regards,
Khan
Did you recently upgrade the server? Sometimes the sysadmin database fails
to be dropped and rebuilt during an upgrade but the stored procedures
change and then get errors trying to access the older table schema. What
version of Informix are you running?
