Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Tom Girsch reported that onstat -g top on an HDR secondary (14.10.FC4W1) repeatedly prints 'Changing data structure forced command termination'. He opened PMR TS003925191. Art Kagel and Carlton Doe suspected expected behavior for HA secondaries, but Tom later reported a fix was already coded for 14.10.xC5 (IT33526, idsdb00106199).

But run it against an HDR secondary and you get this:
$ onstat -g top

PMR time! I will pass that along, but a PMR will help get it fixed.

Way ahead of you.

BTW, multiple PMRs on the same issue seem to kick their collective butts into gear.

It depends on the instance type. For example, I tested with an ER cluster and the command worked however ER nodes are fully independent. HA secondaries are a different animal since they are linked to the primary much more closely. Let's see what development comes back with but this may well be expected behavior because of how the instances operate.

According to HCL, anything that isn't a crash is "expected behavior." :-/

I'd add that if you're using an HDR secondary for reporting and workload distribution, as we do, being able to run this command on one is pretty crucial.

Fix for this has already been encoded and set for release in 14.10.xC5.
