Beware of the Mhz to Mhz comparisons that the hardware vendors like to promote as well. For example just within DEC is the 4-275 Alpha faster than the 5-250? If you use a clock frequency argument it should be something like 10% faster. In fact you'll find the 5-250 is close to twice as fast as the "faster" chip.
