Do you mean that if I create a dbspace and do not denote it as a temp dbspace, yet include it in my DBSPACETEMP in my profile and configuration the engine does not realize this as a TEMP DB space? There are 3 places to identify temp db space: On UNIX w/ AIX in the user's .profile variable DBTEMP In the Informix Configuration file variable DBSPACETEMP On the Informix Onmonitor Menu when you create the db space TEMP [ ] Well I set it on the first 2 and not the third, but by your statement Informix will not reconize this as a TEMP DBSPACE since I did not say Yes (Y) to the third option.
