I agree with all Informix Gurus, who contributes in this newsgroup, their openion to implement database security, however, I have partially implemented (NOT 100%) this by using database roles. There is a lot of work to be done before impleneting this. Be aware of the limitation of "Set Role <Rple Name>" at application level. You can also control public access for any table in your database and grant required access to database object by using role. I have used with IDS 9.21 UC3.
