Joe - are you seeing your single temp dbspace fill about to the 2GB point (out of 20) and then the index build barf right after ( I forget the onstat command offhand)? That would be pretty convincing. If it is true that the engine can't handle multi chunk temp spaces but can handle multi tempspaces with single chunks, then at least you have a decent workaround. It will be interesting to see if multi dbspace w/ single chunks scenario works - please post results. OOps...that's not what you said, sorry. If one 10 chunk tempspace doesn't work, it seems doubtful 5 two chunkers will work. Maybe you should try 10 single chunk tempspaces....
