IIUG - Ask the Experts at the 1997 Informix Conference
Posted in 1997
Hello again from the IIUG Board of Directors. A couple of bits of news we would like to share with you. SUBMIT QUESTIONS TO THE EXPERTS The International Informix Users Group (IIUG) has created an e-mail alias for you to submit questions for the IIUG Ask the Experts session at this year's Informix Worldwide Users Conference. As announced earlier, the IIUG is sponsoring a track of technically oriented sessions. One of the highlights of this track is a session we're calling "Ask the Experts." This session will feature a panel of senior Informix developers and develop- ment managers covering the breadth of the Informix product line. They will be responding to questions submitted to the IIUG about product functionality, operation, and futures. Given that the people on the panel are the ones actually doing the work, it should be a lively and informative session. If you have a question that you would like to submit to this panel, send e-mail to ate_panel_question@iiug.org In response, you will receive a prepared message that lets you know your question was received and added to our list. We will attempt to provide a synopsis of this session on our web site following the conference for those who can not attend. NEW SEARCH ENGINE In other news, Mike Reetz, one of the IIUG system administrators recently upgraded the IIUG search engine to Glimpse. Our previous search engine was rather slow and not terribly user friendly. This new engine is *extremely* fast and has indexed the Usenet as well PD software and web services pages. We think you'll be satisfied with the functionality and speed the new engine offers. As always, if you need more information about the IIUG, visit our web server at http://www.iiug.org or send e-mail to info@iiug.org Carlton Doe President, IIUG carlton@iiug.org
