Informix is actively promoting 4GL/gx these days, which is, in essence a GUI-front end for their 4GL product. Only, it's not a true front-end as much as it is a development environment. You take your character based source code, compile it using gx and...magic! GUI! It's not quite that automatic...but you get the idea. It is still fairly new (but post-beta, I believe), but it is NOT bug-free by any means. We have been using it internally for our Sales and Marketing product, and have it functional on SUN in OpenWindows. But, Informix still has work to do, although it's pretty nifty as is. Informix is also working on "gx for Windows", which will run on a PC using MS-Windows. We have a pre-release copy here, and are hoping to become a beta-site for the new release. - Corinne ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Corinne Gregory Data Systems Support Manager, Software Services Orange, CA internet: corinne@dssmktg.com TelPath: 714.771.0454 bangpath: uunet.uu.net!dssmktg!corinne FaxPath: 714.771.3028 Remember: when you are about to go off the edge, God in His infinite Wisdom made the world round! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
