Re: Data Replication

Few things I've done or noticed (online 7.11uc1 for Solaris 2.4) 1.- you might want to get a separate nic for the servers just for DR and have them on their own little hub (or just attach them directly to each other). A few times somebody wants to copy files from one server to another and has brought my network to a crawl. Wen this happened DR would shut down and I would end up with two Primary servers. I would have to reinitialize DR which is a pain. 2.- there is a bug in 7.11UC1 with DR that when you modify a stored procedure on the primary it does not get modified on the secondary. 3.- when you have scheduled shutdown on the secondary and then bring it back up, sometimes it does not find the checkpoint record in it's logical logs and just hangs in logical recovery. I don't remember the bug id's for these last two but if you really need them I'm sure I can find them if I search hard for them.
