Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi,
Thanks to Alan Popiel and Jonathan Leffler for the help they sent me.
To summarize:
> DEFINE p_tmp_report RECORD
> test_id SMALLINT END RECORD

> CREATE TEMP TABLE tmp_report
> (test_id SMALLINT)>
> UPDATE tmp_report
> SET tmp_report.* = (p_tmp_report.*)
> |
> | The symbol "tmp_report" is not the name of a table in the

> | See error number -4320.
> |

> | See error number -4464.
> WHERE tmp_report.test_id = p_tmp_report.test_id
Changing the SET to "SET test_id = p_tmp_report.test_id" removed the problem.
ie Dropping the ".*" notation.
This is strange because the programme was developed under 4GL/WIN (4.11 I
think) with no problem, only on 4.20 (I think) did the error occur.
Thanks for the help
