Friends I want to ride without using an SDS rawdevices putting a chunk of shared lun mounted on two different machines with the Oracle RAC using OCFS when the use SUSE in INFORMIX have to use OCFS or can simply assemble the two machines pointing to the same LUN without rawdevices I'm using version 11.7 of Informix SUSE Linux 11 2 IBM 3650 machines Storage
I think you question is: "Can I setup a Shared Disk Secondary (SDS) server that uses cooked files and not raw devices like I do for Oracle RAC? If I can, do I have to use OCFS like I do for Oracle or can I use any devices or filesystems?" If that is the question, then the answer is, yes, you can do this and no you do not have to use any specific filesystem or devices as long as your SAN will allow simultaneous access to the devices or filesystems from the two machines.
