Installing IDS 7.24 on AIX 4.2.1.0 / RS 6000

In a context of crash of server,i have to re-install the suite ESC-Cobol/Connect/ClI/IDS whith no problem. But when i want to start oninit , refuse to start with a strange message about library "libc.a"(actually licr_a.a) symbols not use --> library not loaded oninit cannot start If someone have ear about the same problem, enjoy to for all the ideas Very Thanks (for iiug too !)

You're problem is related to the Kernel AIO. If you read the release not, you will see that you have to run the command /usr/sbin/mkdev -l aio0. With this command, you need to run it every time you reboot your system. Or you can do a permanent change with smit or smitty : 1. To change the characteristics of asynchronous I/O, enter the following option: $ smitty chaio2. From the menu, select "State" to be configured at system restart. 3. Change the value for this option from "defined" to "available" and then press enter. 4. To exit SMIT, press the F10 key. 5. You can now reboot your system to take the change in effect.
